Yes, absolutely. Bring your passport and double check you have it before traveling ! You need a valid passport to enter Mexico by air, land or sea. Be sure that the expiration date is not closer than 90 days or you can be denied entry.
There is also a requirement to complete an immigration form, Forma Migratoria Multiple Digital (FMMD), which can be obtained online through the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) website or alternatively you can fill it upon arrival.
Can you go to Mexico with just your ID or driver's license ?
No, you cannot. You need your passport to gain entry to Mexico.

Can I enter Mexico with just my passport card or do I need a passport book ?
Passport books can be used for all entry methods into Mexico, whether by air, land or sea, passport cards on the other hand, are limited to travel through land and sea borders only.
Passport cards, can only be used going through a land border or seaport in Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda.
